A very successful Community Day, organised by the Friends of Sydney Gardens (FoSG) in conjunction with the HLF project team was held on 22nd April with well over 750 people attending. The day included a further opportunity for residents and visitors alike to view and comment on the proposed plans for the Gardens. Numerous observations were received and these are being considered by the Project team.
The final presentation of the proposed scheme will be discussed at the Steering Group meeting on 19th June with the view to lodging the HLF application by the end of August. The outcome is due February 2019.
FoSG hold a regular gardening session on the second Sunday each month. The next session is on the 10th June followed by the 8th July. This is an opportunity to contribute to the upkeep of the planting areas, meet new people and enjoy the fresh air and bird song. Tools and gloves are provided.
